This classic Elastoplast first aid tin can be used to store all manner of mending things from small tools like thimbles and scissors to an ever growing collection of darning yarns & mending threads. 
 
Please be aware this tin has two 8mm slots cut into the base - this appears to have been part of the original design of the tin. It shouldn't cause an issue if you avoid using it to store tiny things like sewing pins or needles.
 
Sourced from a vintage flea market, each tin has been cleaned inside & out and given a very light coating of linseed oil to protect the paintwork.
 
This original 1950/60s vintage tin has 'character' and obvious signs of wear and tear that shows it's true age - scratches, dings, rust spots, stains etc. 
 
The lid is on a hinge which opens and closes securely.
